Apex installed a brand new heat pump and furnace in my home a year and a half ago. Neither unit cheap, but you get what you pay for. Unfortunately the units have failed a couple of times since, and they always repair it.
This past time, it failed mid summer. And they didn't have anyone with knowledge on my setup that could help. They let me go through the peak summer heat, 5 weeks of summer, without any help or any call backs with updates or suggestions.
Great service! I called to get my air conditioner serviced on one of the hottest days of the year and Apex was able to come out the same day. Fair price, excellent service! Thanks Apex
I had Apex come out to my home to diagnose and hopefully get my AC unit running properly for summer. The tech came out and charged me roughly $600 and said "good to go". This was June 21st However my AC still wasn't working. I called apex back within the next few days to see what we could do to resolve this and the gal on the phone tried to sell me the same service I got sold when they came out the first time. I said "I already paid for that and nothing seems to have changed, I want what I originally paid for." She offered no solution. I even asked to have a manager or owner reach out to me so we could reach a resolution. She told me that no managers or owners would be reaching out to me and my only option was to get on the schedule for the same service that had not worked for me prior. So I reached out to another contractor who told me the Apex tech had not performed said service and my unit would very obviously need to be replaced and that I had very obviously been ripped off because I didn't know any better. Pretty unfortunate first experience with a contractor as a new homeowner. All I can say is beware of this company cause it's put me out a lot of time, money and through a very hot uncomfortable summer in my home.
HOMEOWNER BEWARE.
We called Apex with a cooling problem for an AC that's under warranty. The air conditioner would stop cooling after a couple hours and temp on thermostat starts climbing. A young man came out and told me the problem was the filter and to keep the temp no lower than 70 or else the AC would freeze (the filter was dirty and we changed it immediately) however, the same problem continued even after the change of filter. We kept the AC at 70 and same issue as before. I called Apex again and the gal that answered the phone was very rude and condescending, questioning me if we kept the temp at 70 and to check the filter again and warned me that I would be charged if they come out and it's a filter issue again. The filter obviously wasn't the problem in the first place, since the problem persists. ( it's a new home, new AC system, I don't understand why it can't be kept lower..? I just want the house cooled during the hot days.) Not happy with Apex.
I would not recommend Apex to anyone. They do not install correctly, or support the products they install.
What a great experience start to finish! I called Apex to see about getting a quote for a new heating system to replace our 20 year old unit and was able to set up an appointment with their comfort specialist Tim Taylor for the very next day. Tim came out, inspected our old system and walked us through what an entire new system would entail as well as the efficiency gains with a new Bryant system. We had already received a couple other bids, but we learned more about our system from Tim than any of the others so we decided to go with Apex. We were scheduled up for the following week, the workers showed up clean, on time and took care to protect our home while changing out the system. After 2 days they were complete you could not tell they were even there other than the shiny new equipment and the fact that our house is more comfortable than ever before. I am always leery of hiring contractors, but Apex broke the mold and I would recommend them to anyone!
I ended up contacting another company, who worked on Carrier products (parent of Bryant). They were able to not only fix the problem, but repair two other installation defects they found that Apex had left. I then contacted Apex and let them know I'll be using this other local company instead.
